Today the Google Earth team announced the start of a testing program designed to validate the utility of unmanned helicopters for completing a more accurate vertical scale image database.
“Previously we had to rely on imperfect algorithms to depict changes in elevation based on satellite images. Now we have the tools to completely capture the varied topographical features of the World.” said Hugh Spunch, leader of the project team.
“The rotary craft will possess special security features to allow operations in less than optimal environments. We have received initial permission from various governments in exchange for the completion of specific tasks to overfly their airspace.” Mr. Spunch indicated, highlighting the “Potential for the use of this tool as an aid to local law enforcement agencies.”

Don’t worry, this information is only going to be part of the Skynet database. Nothing to be concerned with. War is peace. Move along, citizen.
